My name is Nicoline Kjærsgaard Møller
- an aspiring author and writer from Aalborg, Denmark,
with a distinct interest in the fantastic genres.
Who am I?
My name is Nicoline Kjærsgaard Møller, and I am an 28-year-old aspiring author and writer.
​
In 2016, I got my teacher's degree, but later left the job despite the fact that I loved teaching. My love for literature and textual work has endured, and I cultivate this on my writing journey towards becoming an author.
I live in Aalborg, Denmark, with my boyfriend and our two excessively spoiled adopted cats, Bimmer and Bitten. Bimmer and Bitten have their own Instagram profile, which you should totally follow if you are also a crazy cat lady or man.

During daytime, you can find me behind the counter in the cozy nerd shop Spilforsyningen in Aalborg City, Denmark, where I work as a sales assistant.
​
In my spare time, I help manage DanskFantasy.dk, where I am the assistant editor and also, among other things, the coordinator of illustrators of the sister project Den Fantastiske Skrivestafet. The purpose of the site is to promote the Danish fantasy literature and the authors who enrich us with it.
​
In addition, I am an active member of Skrivegruppen i Aalborg - an informal and inspiring writing community. Maybe I'll see you at the next meeting?

What do I write?
I love to write and like to take every opportunity to do so. However, I have a very special love for the fantastic genres, and my dream is to write and publish my first fantasy novel.
​
I mainly write in the following fiction genres:
Fantasy
Horror
... but I also dabble in dystopia, sci-fi and magical realism.
​
I am currently working on my first novel, Tizans tjener (lit. 'The Servant of Tizaran'), which will be a young adult portal fantasy.
​
I have also written and published articles through my volunteer work as a writer.
​
In the summer of 2021, I will debut as a published short story writer in the short story anthology Historier fra psykiatrien (lit. 'Stories from the Mental Health Care Unit') published by Forlaget Klippe the with my autobiographical short story Nu kører toget (lit. 'The Train Takes Off').
Regardless of genre, it is important to me that the text addresses themes that are relevant and important to speak up about. These can be themes such as grief and mental vulnerability. Here, I draw upon my personal experiences, which you can read more about in the blog series Depression Diary: My journey out of the dark.

My blog
On my blog, I publish short stories and other smaller scribbles I have written. In addition, I post about my life as an aspiring author and former stress and depression patient.

I mainly blog in Danish, but some posts may be translated into English. The blog is under development and the content will continuously be updated.
