Horror rhyme poem by Nicoline Kjærsgaard Møller
Written in 2019
Hey, you! Yes, you! I’m right here,
Even when you close your eyes
I can still whisper in your ear
Come on now, look at me, tell me what you see
Bloody fangs, ghouly hands, eyes stirring, faces blurring
Maybe I leave you thinking
“Gosh, the monster in the mirror is me!”
Don’t miss me; I’ll stay right where I belong
No need to worry, my dear
I won’t forget to sing you my deceiving song
Lulling the sweet curse of blood and despair
Hiding in your closet, your wonderworld’s opposite, under your bed, always in your head
So, when you think you’re dreaming
I’ll convince you to keep believing, I swear
“What do you want,” you ask?
Okay-okay, I will no longer keep you in suspense
Let’s take off this concealing mask
And show you my true intentions, no lies
I’ll bite off your toes, fill your room with crows, spread sickness in your family, be hope’s natural anomaly
And at last; make you think that it’s all over
If you put your neck in a noose, your dead body covered with flies
